This research is motivated by a phenomenon that the Tegal Sari Mandala III community is a community located in Medan Denai District, North Sumatra Province. Where there are differences in religions that live side by side and until now there has been no conflict between adherents of these religions. The Indonesian nation is a pluralistic society. This pluralism is characterized by, among other things, differences in political, social, cultural, ethnic, cultural and religious life. This study uses historical methods. The historical method is to investigate past facts and data through verification, interpretation, and explanation through the use of comparative theory. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, documentation. This type of research uses a type of field (field research) which is qualitative in nature. The results of this study concluded that the development of Islam and Christianity in Tegal Sari Mandala III Village did not cause conflict because religious communities respected, looked after each other, and protected and collaborated in religious activities. Furthermore, it is known that the driving factor for the development of Islam and Christianity is due to religious teachings and the role of religious leaders always maintaining religious harmony. The finding is that even religious leaders, both Muslim and Christian, greet each other.
